Police in Birmingham declare ‘major incident’ after series of stabbings

Officers say a number of people were left injured after incident in city centre

West Midlands police have declared a major incident in Birmingham city centre after a series of stabbings.

Police said there were a number of victims, but the severity of their injuries was not immediately known. They urged people to stay away from the area, which was cordoned off, and warned of a greater police presence.
