‘We expect deference …: SC raps Maha speaker over plea against Shinde camp, seeks time frame
The Supreme Court has directed the Maharashtra legislative assembly speaker to hear and decide on the disqualification petitions against 56 MLAs, including Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, within a week. The disqualification petitions were filed by the Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena after rebels formed a government with the help of the BJP.
