Coffee in cockpit: DGCA issues notice to SpiceJet captain

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday issued a show cause notice to the pilot-in-command of the March 8, 2023, SpiceJet flight where the pilots had kept a beverage cup unsafely on the cockpit’s centre console where even a little spillage could have affected safety. Following the regulator’s order, the airline had off-rostered (taken off flying duty) the two pilots on Wednesday pending a probe into their unsafe mid-air Holi party.
